Oversee the engineering and implementation of Metrocast’s 100G optical backbone network. Work with the Infrastructure Engineering team to design, implement and support our  multi-protocol optical transport network.

Test and configure networking equipment in a lab environment that simulates real-world applications. Perform testing of network equipment and services such as using a complex suite of performance analysis and test tools

Manager of Network Operations              KMC Telecom                 4/01 - 12/ 05

Served as the Operations Manager for the DC Metro region of KMC Telecom. Managed a staff of 7 employees, including field technicians, provisioning engineers, OSP engineers, and customer service representatives. In charge of network design and construction of copper and fiber optic builds to the customer premises. Responsible for the circuit design layout of and acceptance testing on customer orders and interoffice network augmentations. Manage projects for all new fiber optic customers including network design, site and capacity planning. Review site plan drawings and engineering prints with direct customers and third party vendors. . Approve MOP’s for office additions and complete the walk through process with vendors.

 

Assist account executives in group meetings with customers to properly define the customer’s needs and to explain to them the KMC network. In charge of ordering equipment for customer network builds Maintain a log of all outages and service interruptions. Create post-mortem reports for any notable service interferences. Engineer networks designs for customers being served out of our central office. Complete end to end testing on DS-0, ISDN, T-1, T-3, and all fiber optic circuits.
